Summary: We examine the energy flux from Hagen-Poiseuille flow to an elastic tube. The energy flux and the rate of amplification of unstable modes are plotted against the depth of the elastic material \(H\) and against the Reynolds number Re. Additionally, the power of each component of the wall force is also plotted against \(H\) and Re. In this way, the force component at the wall which provides energy transfer to the tube is identified, and the origin of instability can be better understood.
