The author studies the propagation of small amplitude waves incident obliquely upon an elastic strip floating on the free surface of a liquid. The author determines the reflection and transmission coefficients, as well as the deflection and strains in the plate. It is shown that these characteristics essentially depend on the wave incidence angle, wave frequency, and the width of the plate. Approximate expressions are found for the reflection and transmission coefficients. (The term “strip” should be used instead of “plate”).
