On Moore-Penrose inverse of block matrices and full-rank factorization. (English) Zbl 0949.15010

Based on full-rank factorizations arising from a set of different block decompositions of rectangular matrices, formulas are given for the generalized inverse. One of these formulas appears in the book of F. R. Gantmacher [Theory of matrices 4th ed. (1988; Zbl 0666.15002), p. 60; first edition (1953; Zbl 0050.24804)]. In the paper similar formulas are given for weighted generalized inverse.
