Two degree-of-freedom Smith predictor for processes with time delay. (English) Zbl 0942.93012
Smith predictors are generally used for control systems with time delays and reference inputs. This approach is extended for disturbance rejection. The additional degree of freedom introduced in the controller acts as a disturbance estimator.
The proposed controller design is illustrated by two first-order plus time delay systems.
