Density and approximation properties of Markov systems. (English) Zbl 0941.41005
In this paper the authors study density and approximation properties for a Markov system of continuous functions on a closed interval. The results arrived at are similar to those for Markov systems of differentiable functions on a closed interval having the property that the system of derivatives is a Markov system on the corresponding open interval, as studied recently by Borwein, Bojanov, Erdélyi, and others.
