The goal is a better understanding of domain decomposition methods for first-order systems of PDEs in computational fluid dynamics. The author gives a short outline of finite volume method combined with Schwarz method and GMRES. Examples are given for Cauchy-Riemann equations and for shallow water flows over a bump.
