On an ideal-plasticity state of prismatic bodies with nonconstant rectangular cross-sections. (English. Russian original) Zbl 0935.74019

Phys.-Dokl. 42, No. 3, 144-148 (1997); translation from Dokl. Akad. Nauk, Ross. Akad. Nauk 353, No. 1, 47-50 (1997).
In [Dopov. Akad. Nauk Ukr. RSR 1958, 12-15 (1958; Zbl 0106.17105)], A. Yu. Ishlinskij used a linear approximation in the study of a plane ideal-plasticity state of a strip with varying cross-section under a tensile stess. In the present paper, the authors employ a similar approach to treat a three-dimensional ideal-plasticity state of prismatic bodies of varying rectangular cross-section with allowance for piecewise-smooth yield surfaces.
