Variational principle in the theory of plastic flow taking into account formation of tensile cracks. (English. Russian original) Zbl 0888.73040

Starting from the equation of virtual power for a region including a plane finite crack with normal velocity discontinuity, and taking into account the tensile fracture and the convexity of the yield surface, the authors derive a variational principle which implies that a minimum principle is valid for a real velocity field. Finally, the authors consider the case of non-vanishing tangential velocities.
