De Santis, Alfredo (ed.), Advances in cryptology - EUROCRYPT ’94. Workshop on the theory and application of cryptographic techniques, Perugia, Italy, May 9-12, 1994. Proceedings. Berlin: Springer-Verlag. Lect. Notes Comput. Sci. 950, 445-449 (1995).
Summary: The author proposes new variants of the Rabin encryption scheme and the Fiat-Shamir identification scheme which requires only a small fraction of the random access memory (RAM) required by the original schemes. The improved variants are provably as secure as the original variants, and can be implemented on standard smart cards with a few as 36 bytes of RAM without using dedicated coprocessors.
