Summary: Negative binomial mixtures of normal moment distributions have been defined following M. K. Roy et al. [J. Inf. Optimization Sci. 13, No. 2, 207-218 (1992; Zbl 0758.62013); ibid. 14, No. 1, 57-71 (1993; Zbl 0783.60020)]. Different moments, characteristic functions, shape characteristics, and estimators of the parameters have been provided. A computer program to compute the ordinates of the distribution for different values of the parameters and the corresponding probability density curves have also been provided.
