Circuit simulation methods and algorithms. Incl. 2 diskettes. (English) Zbl 0846.94028

Electronic Systems Engineering Series. Boca Raton, FL: CRC Press. xx, 465 p. (1994).
The book treats the simulation of electronic circuits. There is some introductory material for simulator users, some theoretical material at the advanced undergraduate or beginning graduate level and some examples of advanced simulation technique applications. The book includes two diskettes: one contains a general purpose circuit simulator, OPTIMA-3, and the second contains some tasks for PSPICE and OPTIMA. A background of matrix algebra, calculus and electronic circuit theory is assumed. Also there are some review questions at the end of the chapters.
General electronic circuit equations are introduced in Chapter 1. In Chapter 2, the formulation of algebraic circuit equations and some topics in A. C. circuit analysis are covered. Numerical procedures for the solution of the linear algebraic equations of electronic networks is studied in Chapter 3. Algorithms for D. C. circuit analysis including a modified Newton-Raphson algorithm are covered in Chapter 4. In Chapter 5 theoretical aspects of numerical integration methods of ordinary differential equations and problems involving formulating efficient algorithms are treated. Two efficient procedures to solve periodic steady-state electronic circuits are studied in Chapter 6. In Chapter 7, a general treatment of sensitivity analysis is given and large-scale circuits based on decomposition procedures are studied in Chapter 8. The topics of relaxation-based electronic circuit simulation methods are given in Chapter 9.
