Dirac equations for MHD waves: Hamiltonian spectra and supersymmetry. (English) Zbl 0770.76068

Summary: The propagation of MHD waves in a one-dimensional atmosphere is considered. For Alfvén and acoustic waves the evolution equations are transformed into one-dimensional Dirac equations with a supersymmetric structure. For the case of isothermal and hydrostatic atmosphere rigorous spectral resolutions for the MHD Dirac Hamiltonians are given.
