Cuts in hyperfinite time lines. (English) Zbl 0770.03022

In their foundational papers, Loeb introduced a measure on each \(\omega_ 1\)-saturated model of arithmetic, and Keisler and Leth a \(U\)- topology (given a cut \(U\) in this nonstandard model). This paper contains theorems about the existence of cuts with certain measure-theoretic and categorical properties, as well as with certain cofinalities and coinitialities.
