Homoclinic tangencies, generating partitions and curvature of invariant manifolds. (English) Zbl 0733.58033
The paper is oriented towards numerical results. The authors describe a method to compute the curvature of the unstable manifold in two specific examples. The first one is the Henon map and the second is the Duffing attractor. This allows them to locate the homoclinic tangencies. They also claim that the probability distribution of the curvature values show a power decay law.
