The author presents a detail mathematical analysis of Cauchy problem for the Benjamin-Ono equation. It is also established that for specific values of parameters local and global smoothing effects are observed. Theorems are presented for illustration of the proposed method. The paper is of interest to researchers working in the mathematical area.
