Exactly solvable models and new link polynomials. IV: IRF models. (English) Zbl 0719.57006

Summary: We present a general method to construct link polynomials, invariants for knots and links, from the exactly solvable IRF (Interaction Round a Face) models in statistical mechanics which satisfy the Yang-Baxter relation.
