The paper sketches a possible extension of S-systems in geometric geodesy to physical and satellite geodesy. In addition to earlier results in gravimetric geodesy, an analysis is made of inertial navigation, satellite orbit computation and satellite gradiometry. Possible dimensionless compound quantities are proposed for velocity, acceleration and time. Ideas are presented for the estimation of the position of the earth’s centre of mass. Interconnected reductions in, and corrections to, the Hotine and Stokes integral formulas are developed.
