The slow passage through a Hopf bifurcation: Delay, memory effects, and resonance. (English) Zbl 0683.34039
The authors study the effect of a slow time variation of the control parameter on the response of a system as it passes through a Hopf bifurcation. They obtain the results by using asymptotic methods and they apply these results to the Fitz-Hugh-Nagumo equation.
