On Jeans’ gravitational instability in the presence of the Hall and ion slip currents. (Italian. English summary) Zbl 0672.76049
Summary: We study Jeans’ gravitational instability of an electrically-conducting gas described by the magneto-fluid-dynamic equations in the presence of the Hall and ion slip currents. Viscosity, heat conductivity and finite electrical conductivity are taken into account. The critical value of the wavelength is determined and the condition for the gravitational instability is discussed. Several noteworthy particular cases are then examined.
