Flexible system model reduction and control system design based upon actuator and sensor influence functions. (English) Zbl 0623.93005
The authors consider control of large space structures arising from systems of coupled second-order differential equations. A model reduction technique via aggregation with respect to sensor and actuator influence functions is developed and, in a case study, incorporated into the derivation of stabilizing controllers. In the special case of collocated actuators and sensors sufficient conditions for the stability of the closed-loop system are given.
