Approximate inference with interval-valued fuzzy sets - an outline. (English) Zbl 0597.60007

Interval and fuzzy mathematics, Proc. Polish Symp., Poznań/Pol. 1983, 89-95 (1985).
Summary: [For the entire collection see Zbl 0587.00015.]
This paper presents the construction of a method of approximate inference which allows verbal decision procedures to be represented by mathematical apparatus. This method operates on an extension of the concept of a fuzzy set - the so-called interval-valued fuzzy set. An example showing how this method operates is provided.
