Examples of set-theoretic complete intersection surfaces and curves. (English) Zbl 0585.14037
Summary: We prove that the rational normal scrolls are set-theoretic complete intersections in the projective space. Then we consider some embeddings of hyperelliptic curves of genus \(g\geq 2\) in projective space and we prove that the image curves are set-theoretic complete intersections. We work over an algebraic closed field of characteristic zero.
