Canonical solution of the state labelling problem for SU(n)\(\supset SO(n)\) and Littlewood’s branching rule. III: SU(3)\(\supset SO(3)\) case. (English) Zbl 0577.22019
[For parts I, II, see the preceding reviews.]
Explicit expressions of the basis states of irreducible representations of SO(3) obtained in a given irreducible representation of SU(3) are derived in the framework of an approach to the state labelling problem for SU(n)\(\supset SO(n)\) developed by the author and J. Deenen (1983). The relation of the proposed basis to the known ones is discussed.
