Multicriteria optimization in optimum structural design. (English) Zbl 0575.90090

This paper deals with an application of multicriteria optimization to optimum structural design. A brief formulation of the multicriteria optimization problem is presented. The partial and global optimization criteria which might be helpful for the formulation of optimum structural design problems are discussed. An optimization problem of the statically determinate trusses according to the criteria minimum volume of material, minimum displacement of certain points of the structure, and maximum critical forces, is formulated and solved using dynamic programming. The numerical example of optimizatin of a statically determinate truss illustrates a Pareto-optimization problem.
