Fuzzy closure spaces. (English) Zbl 0573.54005

The authors study a fuzzy analogue of the closure spaces introduced by E. Čech [Topological spaces (1966); pp. 237-241]. Here a closure operator need not be idempotent. The authors note the relation between fuzzy closure spaces and fuzzy topologies, construct closures for products and disjoint unions, and introduce weak versions of continuity and compactness. They also reveal some relationships between these closures and fuzzy Čech proximities.
