A note on the central limit theorem for geodesic random walks. (English) Zbl 0561.60071

A central limit theorem shown by E.Jørgensen [Z. Wahrscheinlichkeitstheor. Verw. Geb. 32, 1-64 (1975; Zbl 0292.60103)], for so-called geodesic random walks with identically distributed steps in Riemannian manifolds is proved again by using a theorem of T. G. Kurtz [J. Funct. Anal. 3, 354-375 (1969; Zbl 0174.184)] on contraction operator semigroup approximation.
