The general method of studying the geometry of homogeneous G-spaces with the help of special morphisms [S. V. Vedernikov, Itogi Nauki Tekh., Ser. Probl. Geom. 7, 49-68 (1975; Zbl 0548.57025)] is applied for the study of differential geometry of the space of ellipsoids. Analogous approach is possible for the spaces of general central quadrics of an affine space.
