Derivation of the equations for the motion of vibrationally excited gases. (English. Russian original) Zbl 0541.76099

Summary: Within the framework of the generalized Chapman-Enskog method, the equations of motion of mixtures of gases of multiatomic molecules are derived, for the case of a random number of excited modes and vibrational modes taking part in energy exchanges. The Euler and Navier-Stokes approximations are considered. The model of molecules as harmonic oscillators was taken as the basis.
