The 2024 European Championship, offically WCQ Europe 2024, was a continental World Championship Qualifier. Players who had been successful in other European tournaments (OTS Championships, Regionals and YCSs) got to compete to become the European Champion. It took place at the Estrel Hotel in Berlin from 26 - 28 July 2024.

This was the last event of the 2024 WCQ season, meaning it determined the final participants for the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2024. With around 2300 players in attendance, it was also the largest European Championship of all time.

Events[]

This tournament decided seven invites to the World Championship: Firstly, there was the World Qualifying Points Playoff which decided the first three. In this, the players who had earned the highest amount of "World Qualifying Points" in the 2023-2024 seasons got to play in an exclusive mini-tournament with 16 participants. The Top 3 players from this were Gabriel Netz from the UK, Baptiste Derouin from France as well as Anthony Lopes from Luxembourg. All three were playing "Fiendsmith Sinful Spoils Snake-Eye" decks, the dominant deck of the format.

After that, there was the main event which decided who would get the remaining four invites. Despite the tournament being dominated by the aforementioned "Fiendsmith Sinful Spoils Snake-Eye" deck, the Top 4 players all used different decks. Esteban Re from Italy became the new European Champion playing "Tenpai Dragon". Julio Valls from Spain came in second with "Ritual Beast". The Top 4 players were Samuel Beboux from Switzerland ("Fiendsmith Sinful Spoils Snake-Eye") and Giovanni Barone from Italy ("Fiendsmith Yubel"). Apart from Julio, all of them were fairly unknown players leading up to this tournament.
