Marguerite "Margie" Fatima, known in Japanese as Marglete Fatima (マルグレーテ・ファティマ, marugurēte fatima) is Bart's first cousin and the reigning Holy Mother of Nisan, like Sophia once was. Stubborn and calm even when she is captured, Margie devotes herself to her role, despite her young age.
Biography[]
In 9987, when Margie was four years old, Shakhan led a successful coup d'etat of the Aveh government with the help of Gebler. Wanting to know the true nature of the Fatima Jasper, Shakhan and Gebler had members of the Fatima royal family interrogated using truth serum and torture. King Edbart, Bart's father, and Great Mother Elvira, Margie's mother, killed themselves before they could be injected with truth serum, while Baron Francis, Margie's father, died from severe torture. Queen Mariel, Bart's mother, died from the shock of learning that her family had died.[1]
Margie and her cousin Bart did not escape this treatment, with Bart in particular whipped and beaten. Despite this, they were able to keep from revealing anything due to a strong hypnotism technique passed down in the family, which locked away all memories relating to the family's secret treasure for thirteen years. Until the memory block could wear off, Bart and Margie were locked away.[2]
Back in Nisan, Margie took her mother's place at the tender age of ten. Feeling guilt from witnessing Bart shield her from their captors, Margie resolved to shove away any visible characteristics that marked her as being childish or feminine, seeing these characteristics as somehow shameful. This manifested in her being largely uninterested in adorning herself, as well as her stubborn personality.[3]
Not long before Xenogears, Margie goes to Bledavik, Aveh, based on false information. In the shopping center, Margie saw Chu-Chu, who was disguised as a stuffed animal. Driven by a single-minded want, Margie managed to get Chuchu, but was discovered by a subordinate of Shakhan. Slowed down by Chu-Chu's weight, Margie was recaptured.

During the game, Margie is rescued from Shakhan who wanted Margie's Fatima Jasper.
Bart and Margie have an arranged marriage.
