Brittany Cartwright Admits to Hooking Up With Ex Jax Taylor’s Friend, Says It “Wasn’t Planned”
Brittany Cartwright is Miss Movin’ On. The Valley star recently got candid about her dating life amid her divorce from Jax Taylor on Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast. She revealed that she hooked up with one of Jax’s friends and didn’t waste any time to defend her decision.
“We did not have a no dating in the friend group policy,” Brittany said of her dynamic with Jax on the November 11 episode of the pod. “We never spoke about that because why would we? First off, I didn’t think I was going to hook up with his friend. It wasn’t planned. I wasn’t trying to go after one of his friends. That’s not how it happened.”
She added, “It was somebody that I felt like I knew and in our world. It’s so crazy because, like, how do you trust people? And I was single for the first time in L.A.”
The Bravolebrity noted that the man in question actually slid into her DMs first, saying, “I could tell this guy was flirting with me. I was always flirting with him. He is very much my type and just kind of flirting through DMs, and one time, I was just like, ‘Come over,’ slip in the DM. I always thought he was hot. And also, I was just so mad at Jax.”
Brittany also revealed that she and Jax—with whom she co-parents her 3-year-old son, Cruz—set two specific rules when it came to navigating their divorce.
“What we had said was, ‘Nobody around Cruz and nobody at our home that we own together,’” she explained. “Those were the two rules. I don’t know if he had anyone around Cruz, but he had people at my house. I caught them both times. I caught him twice!”
Brittany emphasized that she didn’t feel guilty for hooking up with Jax’s unnamed friend after the Vanderpump Rules alum’s alleged history of cheating in their relationship.
“I was just so mad at Jax, so I didn’t care if I hurt his feelings,” she told Hot Mic host Alex Baskin. “Why should I care? He never cared about how he hurt my feelings for years. You didn’t give me attention, affection or anything for years.”
