Spanking new account

[edit]

Known previously only as 24.162.17.96, Beowulph suggested I go legit and get a real account. Little did he know that I'd be banned for ten minutes for appearing to be another handle for kill-on-sight Wiki user Mr. Treason because of it. ^_^;

A rocky start, but will it be worth it?

Heh, I just read your post on WP:AN and laughed my butt off! I'm Sasquatch and if you ever need anything, feel free to ask! (Titoxd is a great admin too!) Hope the rest of your wiki-experiences goes better than that! :-) Sasquatch t|c 07:20, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

[edit]

Welcome!

Hello, Voice of Treason, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. "Might of"

[edit]

Will you allow me to play English Police for a moment? I do this now because it will be reverted if you use this very common mistake when editing articles: "Might of", "could of", "would of", etc., are misspellings of the contractions "might've", "could've", "would've", and the like. Since contractions are frowned upon in encyclopedic writing, anyway, "might have", "could have" and "would have" would, in the examples, be the correct form. Feel free to write me if you have any comments or questions, and I hope this helps. RadioKirk talk to me 06:23, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, that's okay. I was under a bit of duress at the moment (as you might understand), hence the mistake. Thanks for the heads-up though. Voice of Treason 02:59, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Need assistance:

[edit]

Logged out by system before committing password to memory; seems I'm unable to retrieve password by email. Don't know if my email was put in correctly or is there at all, as I sort of can't log into the system. ^_^; Help!

Thanks. 24.162.17.96 03:04, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well your password will remain the same, if you used the "email my password" feature then you will have two passwords - the original and the one in your email inbox. I guessing your problem could be caused by the massive server trouble from yesterday - could you try again for me? Let me know if it works. It appears that login problems are currently a known issue, you may have to just be patient.--Commander Keane 03:22, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, and I'm still not receiving an email notice. That's why I wondering if the email address was correct in the system. I'll leave the page like this now; don't know if I need to type "help me" again for continued assistance.24.162.17.96 03:40, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm watching the page, no need to use {{helpme}} again. Just to clarify: so you have totally forgotten your orginal password, and you are not recieving the new password by email?--Commander Keane 03:42, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's correct. I believe I might have come up with it, but since the email either isn't there, isn't going through, or isn't typed correctly I requested a new password more than once. 24.162.17.96 03:54, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your old password won't change just becasue you have emailed a new one. The only thing I think you can do is keep guessing the old password.--Commander Keane 04:02, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Even more than once? And would you be able to check to see if an email's even there? My concern is that's it's typed incorrectly or not present at all.24.162.17.96 04:06, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Er, nevermind. <_< >_>

Thanks for the help. Voice of Treason 04:13, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

YAY!!--Commander Keane 04:15, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Though looking now my email's correct and I'm able to receive mail, so that might be something worth checking into. Weird.Voice of Treason 04:16, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Where do I go to report something like this?

[edit]

What is the best way to report and/or get through to Zarbon what it says at the bottom of each edit page: If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed by others, do not submit it.. He's had this problem before when things didn't go his way (then trying to use sock-puppets to get around it) and now that he's created a page or two he wants no one to touch it, EVER IT, unless they get explicit permission from him first, and threatens to contact admins on any edit he deems "vandalism". It's really getting quite ridiculous. The discussion page for Freeza Family Tree give his take on having things "his way", and also my response.

Help on settling this issue would be appreciated. Thanks. Voice of Treason 20:17, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Considering it's escalated to personal attacks on his part now, I'm hoping to report it. Voice of Treason 20:35, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Personally I'd walk away for a week. Then I'd come back and try to write a good article (it's pretty bad at the moment). If they brake a rule you can ask an admin to enforce a policy, you should be able to find a place for that here (but I'll keep an eye on the situation for you now). It is a tricky situation but always assume good faith. I'll look into the situation (I'm an admin).--Commander Keane 20:42, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The thing is, it's difficult to assume good faith when he's had a laundry list of problems before. And while I'd like to improve the page it's impossible with his current feelings on editing his page. I do appreciate you looking into it before it denigrates further. Voice of Treason 20:49, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

One should learn to let things go, but...

[edit]

Other than the problem listed above, Zarbon keeps adding a superfluous link to his forums on the above page, and any deletion is soon reverted. This will turn up as another stupid revert war. Looking for mediation for the on-going problem. Voice of Treason 21:48, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You can try looking at the resolving disputes pages which may give you some pointers as to other things to try as well as more formal dispute resolution. --pgk(talk) 22:01, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hi, this is me, Zarbon, and I really don't want to upset anyone here. I want to be friends, its just that the whole idea was mine so i don't want the pages to be ruined. By ruined I don't mean updated. I just don't want the jap naming. it's not the most commonly known. I know all the versions and most people refer to lord freezer as Frieza. The jap naming is also confusing. jinzoningen is a word familiar to only jap ppl. So almost all other users will have to check the info on the dub, etc. you get the point. i don't want the pages i thought of to be confusing for people. please, i want to be as polite as i can, and almost all other quarrels i had dealt with the exact same thing, ppl reverting pages just to prove a point. - Zarbon

I decided not to report it, but please don't use terms like "jap". It's considered derogatory, even if it's unintentional. People aren't reverting pages just to tick you off. I think you've got the wrong attitude to a lot of things and think people make edits just to bother you when they're trying to improve the page.
Another thing. When you lie, which, you have to admit now, you did on the Budokai page and others about the different IP reverts, you're going to get a bad reputation from those around to see them. And it's not good to put down people when they call you on your mistakes when admins have seen it for themselves. People should be forgiving of the past, but you shouldn't revert everything you disagree with if you're in the minority on an issue in the future. Voice of Treason 15:18, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Third opinion wanted ~~

[edit]

I'm going to various contibuting editors to DragonBall articles to receive help and third opinions on a dispute between Zarbon and myself on the List of Frieza Related Characters in Dragon Ball. And lucky, lucky, you just so happen to be one. ^_^ Any input/discussion on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Papacha 14:59, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia Items in Nico Robin section

[edit]

Hello. Please don't delete the last five trivia items in the Nico Robin section in One Piece or I'll just re-add them back

Edwardadrian--Edwardadrian 00:49, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't even do the edit at 18:12. I have no idea how that got on my record, as I know next to nothing about One Piece. Voice of Treason 03:18, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's odd, the last time I checked, you edit it right after me. I'll check it again. Excuse my blaming. Edwardadrian~~--

That's the thing. The record says I did, but I didn't. I've already made a topic about the glitch or whatever on the complaints page. Voice of Treason 04:22, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

3RR

[edit]

Hiya -- your report on User:Wiki-star won't do any good -- 3RR prohibits more than three reverts, not three or more. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 18:18, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:3RR. Also, be aware that the convention for naming biographical articles is to exclude their titles; for instance, Albert Einstein and not Dr. Albert Einstein. Isopropyl 18:20, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's no problem, I understand. Being so headstrong about things they'll probably be additional reverts later; I won't touch it so I won't break the rule myself. Also, Majin Buu is the official name of the character from the anime, so the titles analogy for Dr. Einstein doesn't really work in this case, as it wouldn't for other titles in Akira Toriyama's fiction(Dr. Gero, Captain Ginyu, etc.}.
I do appreciate someone looking into it and perhaps watching the article, though. Thanks. Voice of Treason 18:33, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I knew it wouldn't take long, but I didn't expect it to be that short a wait. Voice of Treason 18:37, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Can you report Wiki-star under the long term administrator noticeboard? I think he's reached that point. I'm busy now, and you did a good job last time.--Orion Minor 01:47, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request to take Majin Buu to arbitration...

[edit]

Snurk, snurk, snurk...

After doing a file report on WP:ANI that was lightly brushed away, administrators suggested taking the case to WP:ARB. The theory being, if User:Wiki-star is as bad as all out, he would shoot himslef in the foot (though he should be lookin' somethin' like the Black Knight by now). As a periphery, I don't feel it's right to act as a cornerstone. Would you organize it?

I'm posting this to several parties involved in this 'lil get-together at Majin Buu, so let them know if you get to it first or decline please. This looks to be our final measure. Papacha 06:05, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to strike (with <s></s>) the comments I have made in the peer review page as you address them. That way others who may come to review the article will know you have been addressing some already. -- ReyBrujo 02:37, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorta in the same vein - you didn't have to erase your message, for goodness sakes. There's nothing that can't be solved with a 'lil hardwork (aside from my laziness >_>). Papacha 01:15, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, well you just might find... you get what you need. Papacha 05:44, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well isn't that always true, my good friend... You know, kinda makes you wonder if he'd really clean up his act this time around... ... ... NAH... --3bulletproof16 06:03, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
However... I am going to miss his dramatic way of writing... that Final Atonement speech almost (ahem... ALMOST) brought a tear to my eye. Well not really, but still pretty dramatic. --3bulletproof16 06:19, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well for once I'm somewhat flattered that he actually addressed me this time. Though I'm not too fond of him saying that he was going to kill me, I do, however, manage to find some comedic relief in all this at the thought of him attempting to kill me. Here's my analysis: He can't write at all so my guess is another Dragon Emperor "Sockpuppet". However, the IPs responsible for the recent vandalism are AOL trolls so there is a slim possibility that Wiki-star could indeed be making himself look like an ass again... --3bulletproof16 21:44, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's probably just an anon AOL vandal, don't pay him any attention. And if it's the known AOL vandal Wiki-star this does nothing for his case. Don't take the bait and make a big deal of it either way. Voice of Treason 22:24, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yo, I forgot to thank you for discribing the Image. I fell asleep before I could get to it. Oh, one more thing, could you check out Wikipedia:Requests for protection and suppourt the semi protection for Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2? And could you tell me how to create articles? Thanks.--KojiDude (talk) 21:57, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Piccolo Daimaō

[edit]

As a side note to an earlier discussion we had, I forgot that Kami specifically notes Piccolo Ma Jr.'s differences from his "father" as not being demonic. He says that when a demon kills someone their soul cannot rest, or something like that (referencing one of Piccolo Daimaō's traits), and thus takes it as a good sign that Raditz wound up at Enma's desk. Onikage725

Yes, that's right. I remember the scene now. Voice of Treason 00:04, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kuririn

Added my 2 cents, hope it helps. Onikage725

I have to agree. The idea that videogames and the TCG are of higher authority than the MANGA is beyond ridiculous. Onikage725

Buu

[edit]

You mention that the main part is too play-by-play. Can you give an example of where to cut down? Besides a few sentences here and there, I can't really see much that can be really butchered. Nemu 23:02, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. Just because something is factual to something doesn't mean it should be included in Wikipedia. Both Aerith Gainsborough and Jabba the Hutt do much within the appearances of their series and its expanded universe, but that info is briefly mentioned instead of giving a few paragraphs on the subject. Also, they focus more on an analysis of their place in their fictional universe whenever possible. Though almost all of DBZ is devoted to fighting, the articles (if you guys want them to meet that standard) can not. WP:NOT#Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information explains it from the perspective of Wikipedia.
Articles on fictional characters need to abide by the recent style guide of WP:WAF, and getting a GA on one is tougher than before I've been told. Articles can also be stripped of GA status if the fail to update to meet the new consensus standards. Voice of Treason 04:40, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the stupid guy wants help again.

[edit]

Last time I ask a favor from you I swear: I'm thinking of making a new article for the Sinistrals from Lufia. I'm a really big fan of that series, but I've only played one of the games. On August 31st I'm going to get the other two games, and edit the article while I play through the game. The sinistrals' only have small paragraphs in each game article, and they obviousley deserve more than that. The article name is going to be Sinistrals (Lufia) or The Sinistrals (Lufia). I might be able to handle it on my own, but I've had a history of breaking Wikipedia rules without even knowing they exsisted. I wanted to know if you could:

  1. Help me with the article as it goes on?
  2. Tell me where I could find an SNES system and the two games?
  3. Try to keep the article from being deleted when it first gets started?
  4. Point me out to an admin that could do these things for me if you can't? (Not Lord Deskana)

If you don't wanna help, I completley understand. Thanks.--KojiDude (talk) 03:16, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know anything about Lufia, unfortunately. I can tell you that the two games will be very expensive if you can find them, or bid on them on eBay or half.com. Most retail gamestores don't carry older carts anymore (GameStop doesn't even take PlayStation discs) so getting it online may be one of your few options. SNES should be easier and less expensive to find than either game.
Looking it up on some game sites, do you think you can expand enough information on the Sinistrals to match something like the Turks of FFVII? You might want to do it all at once to avoid deletion or a merge into the games. Voice of Treason 04:52, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I can definitly make it like the Turks article, and I can remake it if it's deleted, right? I'll take your advice on the games, and I found a reliable and trusted online source already (As you can see from the link, I started it already). Thanks for the advice. --KojiDude (talk) 05:03, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I pretty much finished it for now...I can't think of anythign else to add to it besides Sir Arek's paragraph. What do you think? Is it good? --KojiDude (talk) 23:14, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If there's not more than two sentence of info on him, don't give him his own section, there's no need. Voice of Treason 20:01, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Good point. And thanks for putting the Vegeta GT article up for deletion for me. I tried but it kept just coming out red...--KojiDude (talk) 21:00, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What's the confirmation that he's even in the game? Don't worry, it's complicated at first to nominate for deletion but it's real easy once you get the hang of it. Since you tried to set it up, remember to keep or delete here. Voice of Treason 21:05, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:What's up?

[edit]

Hiya. Sorry for the late response, a storm knocked out my power for a few days (it's a long story). I'm not an administrator, but I'm flattered you thought I was. =) I am considering putting in an RfA for myself in the near future, though. I'm sorry to hear you won't be editing Wiki as much, you're a good contributor. Anyway, the Japanese/Original names for the movies are listed on both the Movie list and the Movie articles, but I feel the english ones should be used when writing an article or ect., scince this is the English Wikipedia and most users will recognize the English names more than the Japanese ones. The Japanese names are also kind of hard to remember for me.

P.S.~ I've got a better solution for vandalism in mind. (Pumps shotgun) >=D

Dragon Clan Namek

[edit]

I saw a question you asked awhile back about when Dragon Clans were mentioned. Off the top of my head, in Vol 6 of the manga (by US reckoning) when Kuririn is talking to Saichourou he is surprised that Piccolo could be killed by the Saiyans and calls him the prodigy of the Dragon Clan, or something like that. He was also referencing the original being, the one who made the dragon balls, not the warrior-born Ma Junior. Onikage725
