Hello -- My name is Tom Nordlie, I'm a public-relations writer with the University of Florida's agriculture program. This is my first Wikipedia editing experience, please forgive me if I seem ignorant.

I've been asked to expand the current Wikipedia article on Dr. Ilaria Capua, who is a faculty member here at UF.

In a nutshell, I have already prepared a lengthy biography of Dr. Capua, which was written to conform to Wikipedia standards. I plan to input the material and citations over the course of several days, beginning later this week.

Having no prior experience, I don't know if there's a standard way to proceed, but I read somewhere that it's good etiquette to notify the "founding editor" before altering a page they posted originally. So, please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Also, here's a message for anyone else who may read this -- In case the question arises, I'm a full-time, permanent employee of the University of Florida. I am paid an annual salary for writing various promotional items for the UF agriculture program. I am not an independent contractor or temp, and I'm not being paid any sort of bonus for editing this Wikipedia page. I've been involved in this kind of work 15+ years, and I am very mindful of the need to always "write to the task" and produce the sort of material an assignment requires -- in this case, thoroughly cited, fact-focused, neutral POV material. I hope that I am considered sufficiently neutral to proceed. If not, please let me know ASAP.
