A tag has been placed on CIDCO Inc, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. — Timneu22 · talk 19:16, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

{{hangon}}Lust2636 (talk) 19:19, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This page should no more be deleted then AT&T, Lucent or IBM. As someone who works in the telecom industry and people keep searching Cidco Mailbox, and CIDCO, and getting a re-direct here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_and_Industrial_Development_Corporation

You can see why it would confuse and upset people. Please leave the page and the information intact. Furthermore, please put a fork on the top of the - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_and_Industrial_Development_Corporation ...article, to click and re-direct to CIDCO Inc. Without CIDCO Inc, we would not have the caller ID we have today, nor would it be widely implimented. I think it qualifies as a worthy company. Furthermore - I work for World Media, and have no stake or business associations with CIDCO, other then we have to de-crypt the CIDCO/Bellcore databursts in our handeling of phone calls. Lust2636 (talk) 19:27, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Furthermore, G11. Unambiguous advertising or promotion. Pages that are exclusively promotional, and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to become encyclopedic. Note that simply having a company or product as its subject does not qualify an article for this criterion...

My page does not qualify under this as the company is BANKRUPT and non-functional, so, what would I be promoting? a company that is out of business? This article will be as detailed and exaustive as I can make it, not only on CIDCO the company, but on the technology and the telephonic side of things. There are not alot of these resources or information pages online.

Do not just tell me you are going to delete my article, tell me how to make it better, offer input and critique. I'm an engineer and write technical instructions for my job. Let me know how to make this article better. Lust2636 (talk) 19:48, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:Lust2636/CIDCO Inc, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of User:Lust2636/CIDCO Inc and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Everard Proudfoot (talk) 01:25, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Cidco MailStation page goes back to 14 october 2006, and pre-dates my page for Cidco Inc. I was trying to improve the Mailstation page, and fill in information about the mailstation, and about Cidco, neither of which seem to be appreciated, as its getting flagged to delete the MailStation page. My personal space was getting flagged for deletion, which is supposed to be protected under G2. Test pages. This excludes the sandbox and the users' own user space, as well as pages that were created in error (see G6)... I'm not a happy user at the moment. Lust2636 (talk) 06:16, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
