"Although the pastry is known as "pineapple bun", it contains no pineapple." - yes traditionally the recipe doesn't contain pineapples, but this contributor has personally encountered some pineapple buns that literally have pineapple fillings in some Chinese restaurants in Auckland in New Zealand. They are not made by Hong Kong or Guangdong Chinese-origin bakers so perhaps this is a misunderstanding on the part of the chef as to what "pineapple bun" means?? --JNZ23:51, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
