  This article seems like a praise more than an encyclopedic article. I can tell that his deed's are noble. He risks his life everyday after all. However, we strive to have neutrality in our articles.

Shafqat Malik, S.St is a senior Pakistani government officer who started his career in 1987. He has served in the Pakistan Army, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the Police Service of Pakistan, and the Intelligence Bureau.

Shafqat Malik, S.St is a high ranking Pakistani law enforcement officer who has dedicated 37 years of his career to serving in various roles within Pakistan's security and intelligence sectors. Malik is one of the few officers who has experience of Pakistan Military, Federal Investigation Agency, Police Service of Pakistan and Intelligence Bureau.

One of Malik's most notable qualifications is his status as an expert in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and forensics, having received training from institutions such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Australian Federal Police (AFP), and Scotland Yard. He has also earned recognition as an authority in ballistics, forensics, and EOD, frequently called upon to provide testimonies in the prosecution of over 5,000 cases in Anti-Terrorism Courts.^[1][2][3]

Malik has also been invited as a keynote speaker and training instructor to various national and international forums and organizations, including the FBI, Scotland Yard, AFP, NCT consultants, Federal Judicial Academy Islamabad, National Police Academy Islamabad, FIA Academy Islamabad, IB Academy Islamabad, and others..^[4][5][6]

Malik started his career as a Gentleman Cadet in 1986 at the Officers Training School, Mangla. In 1987, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Regiment of Artillery and served in various positions across Pakistan. His exceptional service led to recognition as one of the best Ammunition Technical Officer (ATO). After two decades of military service, he retired as a Major in 2007 to join Pakistan's Civil services .

In 2007, Malik joined the Federal Investigation Agency as an Additional Director (BPS-19) in the Special Investigation Group, now known as the Counter Terrorism Wing. Based at FIA HQ in Islamabad, he has investigated high-profile cases as a member of the joint investigation team, including the Marriott hotel bomb blast and the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto..^[7]

In response to requests from both federal and provincial governments, Malik was inducted into the Police Service of Pakistan in 2009. He was posted to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police as Assistant Inspector General (BPS-19) and assumed the role of AIG Special Branch, KPK. During his tenure, he actively participated in counter-terrorism operations, often as the first responder. His contributions included clearing improvised explosive devices (IEDs), defusing suicide bombers, and providing crucial forensic evidence to track terrorist groups involved in high-profile operations such as attacks on the American consulate Peshawar, Army Public School and College Peshawar, Bacha Khan University, Pakistan Airforce Base Badaber and the Hayatabad operation in Peshawar etc..^[8]

In 2023, Malik was inducted in Intelligence Bureau as Joint Director General (JDG) in BPS 21. He is posted as Advisor to DG IB.
