USK ID
[edit]Originally proposed at Wikidata:Property proposal/Creative work
Motivation
[edit]Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (Q157754) is the organisation responsible for video game ratings in Germany − we have the rating property as USK rating (P914) − and it turns out it has a database with resolvable IDs. The data model is per-release (in Germany, presumably), so for each platform and distribution package − hence eg. 6 IDs for Dark Souls 3. Jean-Fred (talk) 19:53, 3 August 2022 (UTC)

Discussion
[edit]- Comment. @Jean-Frédéric: This property, just like ESRB game ID (P8303) is supposed to be used as main value, right? But what do we do with rating certificate ID (P2676) that is currently used for this numeric ID as qualifier (example)? Remove it from items and replace it with USK ID that will be used as the main one? By the way, a number like 50231/21 does not seem to be a rating certificate at all. What do you think? - Support Finally a good way to link to individual ratings on usk.de! This needs to be used as main value so that the IDs can be refined with platform (P400) qualifiers. The rating certificate ID (P2676) values should be moved to the new property. I wonder whether the new property should also include the last two digits of the classification date like rating certificate ID (P2676) does—it wouldn't effect the formatter URL because the website ignores a trailing slash + number, e.g. usk.de/usktitle/50644/22 redirects to usk.de/usktitle/50644. —Dexxor (talk) 08:41, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
- Not sure what to think of rating certificate ID (P2676) to be honest. We do need to annotate the rating with ID somehow ; we could use the ID as qualifier ; we could use references instead... Not too sure there.
- I would prefer not to use the certificate ID for this (and counting on the last 2 digits to be ignored) − we have no guarantee this will stay that way, and the best IMO is to follow the URL scheme as it is. Jean-Fred (talk) 08:13, 28 August 2022 (UTC)
- Info. So far I've added 5 catalogs to Mix'n'match (
[1],[2],[3],[4],[5]). Catalogs are divided by platform and new ones will be added. Unfortunately USK does not sort the database alphabetically, but you can get all IDs if sorted by platform. - @Jean-Frédéric, Dexxor, Sir Lothar, Telaneo: Done: USK ID (P11063). Not sure what happened to previous m'n'm catalogs, but I created a new one for all platforms. The catalog is a must-see because, besides video games, I found a lot of interesting stuff in the USK database. Regards Kirilloparma (talk) 22:44, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
