Paseo / passeig
[edit]Hi. promenade (Q21099420), as you can see here serves a rather specific purpose. A "bastard" purpose if you wish as you can argue it is primarily a lexical purpose in a semantical database (while at the same time fulfilling the semantical part as it is a subclass of (P279) something), but it can be sourced in the items (and it is indeed sourced in some of them). I don't want to enter in interlanguage "essentialist" quarrels (precisely that is the purpose of the item), but please don't void the item. Thanks in advance--Asqueladd (talk) 01:16, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- Hi @Asqueladd:. My purpose to merge promenade (Q21099420) into esplanade (Q88372) was the need to give an answer, in a single article, about this type of road . Let's say, at least in the article ca:passeig, cause it was orphan interwiki-linked. In my opinion, es:Paseo marítimo it's a very good article about a subclass of esplanade that deserves another wikidata item.--Jove (talk) 01:44, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- Indeed, but separating/mixing leads to being essentialistic about what in the end it's roughly the way of naming throughfares (with nuances, I know). This also leads to mingling about the content of every interlanguage Wikipedia link and that's something I am not ready to assume, because the difference in many cases is moot, and because, frankly, having just read the vagueness underpinning the en:wiki entry "esplanade", I think there is not much to be done there. 3) There is no need for an item to have an external link in order to justify its existence. It is not orphaned because it is indeed linked from many items. It can serve a structural purpose, and that's clearly the case here. Let's jut put said to be the same as (P460) and be done with it. Regards.--Asqueladd (talk) 01:59, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- Ok @Asqueladd:. If your concern regards to nuance differences that lead to a missunderstanding, go ahead undoing the text changes. Thanks for your interest.--Jove (talk) 15:05, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

Please merge instead of blanking
[edit]Hi! When you find duplicate entries, you should merge them. Please don't just blank one of them. Cheers, Bovlb (talk) 21:28, 25 September 2019 (UTC) Thank you for your work in maintaining Wikidata. I have a small suggestion to improve your future work. If you notice that two items are duplicates, please merge them instead of blanking one of them as you did with the item Q106681821. External sites use Wikidata identifiers, so it is important that we preserve the chain of references. We do this by making one item a redirect for the other. In particular, item ids are intended to be a permanent identifier, so we never reuse them for another concept. See Help:Merge for more information on how to merge items, and consider installing the Merge Gadget. Thanks! Bovlb (talk) 15:58, 3 May 2021 (UTC) --Bovlb (talk) 15:58, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Bovlb: Hi! Thank you so much for this tip. I didn't know how to merge pages from Wikidata, for that reason I used to blank one of them. From now on I'll use these advices to solve the problem. Cheers!--Jove (talk) 08:50, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Jove, I hope you are very well, greetings. I've seen editions like this and I don't really understand why we should put the Catalonian nationality. Do you want to do it with all the Catalan people in Wikidata or just some? Thanks. --Vanbasten 23 (talk) 11:57, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- Please, Jove, I wrote to you and then you continued to make the same edits. This can be considered vandalism, because you delete other users' edits without explaining your actions. I don't want to report you, so please stop and undo these edits. Thanks. --Vanbasten 23 (talk) 19:17, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Vanbasten 23, I just answer messages at night. Your appointment I guess is from a rookie POV. Check out Wikidata policies, please. All changes are according community standards. Citizenship is not nationality and, in that sense, you have to take care about inner territories fully described as part as states. I request you to stop undoing duties until you justify it, thanks.--Jove (talk) 21:30, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Jove. Is it a good conversation starter to tell the other person that he is a rookie? You think that this way you will convince me that you are right and they will be above in the conversation. Please, you've been here for many years to look at CentralAuth first, don't you think so? Assuming you're right, do you think that since 2013 we have Wikidata is the first time that this issue occurs, why don't all Catalans have the same nationality then and are you only putting it? Please go to the Café if you want to discuss this with the community, but don't go on like this. I also prefer to change the nationality that I have in my element, but... Take care. --Vanbasten 23 (talk) 05:58, 15 June 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, I wanted to apologize. My intention was not to call you a rookie, I don't know your career at WKM , I just intended to refer to the point of view since it's a field validated by common standards related to nationality, citizenship and sports nationality. Note that this fact doesn't contradict the states system's order because is not «nationality» it's «citizenship». In that sense, I made changes in articles I worked with, I didn't go looking for them specifically. If these changes are not welcome by some users, I will not make them from now on, even though they are valid. Thanks for your attention.--Jove (talk) 06:05, 16 June 2022 (UTC)
Madamebiblio (talk) 20:57, 28 June 2022 (UTC)

Referencias
[edit]Hola Jove, has creado numerosos elementos sin una sola referencia. Por favor es necesario que leas Fonts. Un saludo. Madamebiblio (talk) 19:10, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Madamebiblio Cap problema, ara n'afegeixo. Ha estat part del procés de migració del repartiment d'una sèrie de televisió a WIkidata. Jove (talk) 19:19, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
Inserting false claims
