The plane landed on the freeway between Wellesley milepost 161 and Freya Street, Patrol said on the social media platform X shortly after 1:30 p.m.

The highway has been closed between milepost 134 at Ross Dam Trailhead and milepost 171 at the Silver Star Gate since Nov. 30.

Caltrans announced in late March that it had finished its design plan for repairs at the landslide area known as Regent’s Slide, a massive pile of earth and muck blocking the road near milepost 27.8.

The closed section of road contains three separate slide sites: Regent’s Slide, the Dolan Point Slide at milepost 29.5 and Paul’s Slide at milepost 22.

Westbound Interstate 90 was closed at milepost 42 Monday evening due to a motor home fire, according to the Washington State Patrol.
