Almost Pro was a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate regional tournament which took place on September 2nd-4th, 2022 at the Seattle Convention Center in Seattle, Washington, as one of the events at the PAX West 2022 Arena. It was a qualifier for the Panda Cup circuit, where the top non-qualified player qualified for the Panda Cup Finale. The tournament had a $10,000 prize pool, was capped at 512 entrants, and was only available to residents of the United States, Canada, and Mexico due to PAX rules. Almost Pro was a part of PAX West 2022 Arena, which also featured Stream Stars with various Nintendo Switch games, and Nintendo's Splatoon 3 Enter the Splatlands Invitational 2022 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Championship Cup 2022 invitational. It was the first PAX tournament for Ultimate and the first Smash Bros. PAX tournament in four years.

Trivia[edit]

  • Due to an Invitational happening in Oregon on the same weekend, many of Washington & the greater Pacific Northwest's best players weren't participating. The PAXArena stream raided the invitational stream at the end of both days as compensation.
  • The highest-placing participant from the Seattle area was Justice, at 5th.
