Isthmus Be the Way is a Co-op minigame appearing in Super Mario Party. Its name is a pun on the phrase "this must be the way," while the term "isthmus" refers to a land bridge connecting two large pieces of land.

Introduction[edit]

The camera pans from the finish line to the starting area, showing the layout of the path and the location of the players in the process. The minigame then begins.

In this minigame, each player must carry a bomb containing fireworks across four paths to each other. If any player falls off the path, they are returned in a bubble with some precious time wasted. The minigame ends once the last player reaches the Toads at the end.

On Challenge Road, this is the 10th challenge of Salty Sea and the 59th challenge overall. Here, the fireworks have to be carried by only one player across the entire course without falling and under a time limit. The time limit is 50 seconds for the normal challenge and 30 seconds for the Master Challenge.
