With all my catch up posting last night I almost forgot #huggehourreadathon I got the Thanksgiving decorations up, made a pot roast for Sunday family dinner and we tried out a new card game. I was so tired that when all was said and done I maybe read 3 pages in this months book club pick.

Can‘t believe I waited so long to read this one, I really enjoyed it and was fascinated by all the research the author put into this on the suspect, the fire that consumed Central Library in Los Angeles, libraries and librarians. If you love books and libraries you will love this one. Also, made my goal of reading 31 hours this month!

A little late finishing this one for the buddy read. This installment felt light on danger and suspense but had plenty of car accidents! I‘m finally getting caught up on my reading and readathons! First book of #spookoween completed and nearly 14 hours reading time towards my monthly goal of 31 hours for #31by31

I give this book a soft pick as it was light on plot and sadly a bit dull. It tells the tale of a young girl that binds books in Oxford England during WW1 as she dreams of attending university.

Yay a pick I actually completed! Go me. At first I was hesitant to read this, I didn‘t think I would like it enough to stay engaged. I was wrong. From the first few pages I was hooked by the story telling and character development. Yes, a little editing here and there would have been nice but overall I really liked this multilayered story of community, identity, and compassion. Well worth a read.

I recently read a bibliomemoir where the author wrote an essay on Franny Glass which inspired me to reread all of Salinger‘s work for the first time since I read them as a young adult. Book one done. At first I was afraid because I didn‘t want my initial opinion to change but if possible, I love his work even more. The first half, Franny, is the better half but I still enjoyed Zooey even though he‘s a bit of a brat.
