This is starting to get a little bit long, but it‘s still really good.
Holy crap, this was good. On to the next one!
This is the best of the series so far! Fall 2020 is a long way away..
So much of this was just a chore to get through... I almost bailed. I did like the last 50 pages or so.
This was fine... there was story set in the past and one in the present, and neither one felt very developed.
For years, I‘ve told myself I would read all 56 Nancy Drew mysteries... there are a few I‘ve never read. The simple sentences really make me want to laugh. But, I read about a third of the book in no time at all and quite enjoyed myself.
This book didn‘t have much substance, but I really love how much I identified with the main character. It also made me laugh out loud, and that doesn‘t happen often.
How long had Atwood been working on this before she announced its imminent publication? At times it felt a teeny bit rushed, and the alternate perspectives a bit unnecessary. It‘s not as powerful or as interesting as The Handmaid‘s Tale, but it held my attention.
What if George Washington became king and America was a monarchy? Fun speculative fiction told with multiple perspectives.
Making my way through TJR‘s back list. This one grabbed me today and didn‘t let me go.
A book about guilt, lies, and honesty. have somewhat mixed feelings, but I did like this quite a bit.
Well, the main character is pretty awful through most of the book. But the book itself wasn‘t too bad. It had its moments. I just didn‘t love it.
I saw this on a “must reads” list and was so excited for it. But... the main character is really annoying. She‘s supposed to be 27, but seems more like she‘s 18. 🙄 I‘m kind of feeling like I wasted an Audible credit on this, because she might be a little more tolerable if I abandon the audio book and just read my paperback.
I don‘t typically read contemporary romances, but this was a lot of fun. I‘ll be reading more by this author.
This took me forever to get into, but I blew through the last 150 pages or so. I‘m not sure I quite understand all the hype, but I liked it well enough.
A little bit Outlander, a little bit Gone With the Wind. Diverting, but I didn‘t always care for the main characters.
Cinderella retelling with some nice touches, but few surprises. I‘m so torn with this rating, because the story had my attention. However, I have a few too many nits to pick. I might have liked this better if I‘d read the print edition as opposed to the audio.
Fun take on the “fall in love with the governess” trope. Loved these characters.
I have mixed feelings about the writing, but the story is mostly true, and it is just incredible.
Sweet middle grade novel. But, I would rather read Schooled, a Korman book where the characters are a little more fleshed out and the plot is better developed.
My daughter has discovered Rick Riordan, which is amazing! She takes the dust jacket off our books and leaves fingerprints, which is not so awesome, but I love these reminders of how much she is loving the world Riordan creates. I love it too- this was better than the second Apollo book.
Okay. The first half was not great, and it was a bummer because I subscribe to Riccio‘s YouTube channel, and I know how much this novel means to her. I‘m glad I stuck with it though, because the last half of the book was actually pretty good and took a turn I legitimately was not expecting.
A book about music and friendship. Some parts were not as developed as I might have liked, but the denouement made me cry.
I just... this was incredible. The world Pierce Brown built got bigger, and I am here for it. Thank GOODNESS the next one comes out at the end of July.
I love Lillian Boxfish... what a neat character. The book makes me want to go back and take a walk in New York City. #summer2019reading
Although I knew the story of Hemingway and Gellhorn, this was hard to put down. Consumed mostly on audio.
