I‘ve been told that reading to a baby when he/she is in the whom and is able to hear is good for them. So my baby girl and I have been listening to the HP series. ☺️ We will of course be reading it again after she‘s born and is old enough to understand what‘s going on, but for now we‘re enjoying the audiobooks.

TheBookAddict @marleed 🥰 Thank you! 2y
ravenlee I read to my kiddo in utero, too. We‘re almost through the last HP book together now as she‘s about to turn 9. Time flies! I wish a lifetime of shared reading to you two. 😍 2y

“It is possible to have a loving relationship full of mutual respect and good intentions, like Gabriela‘s. Hmm, this one is touching upon some tough subjects, but I‘m liking it. It talks about infertility, which is surprising to me since it seems like a taboo subject. I‘m glad more people are talking about it. Thanks to those who venture out and talk about. It makes some of us feel like we aren‘t alone, the anomaly, the weirdos who can‘t do something that should be a piece of cake. 💜

I finished it about a week ago, but didn‘t know how I was feeling about it.

16yo MIM has moved to MS with her dad and stepmom after her parents‘ divorce. She isn‘t happy about it and after overhearing a conversation, in which she finds out mom is sick, she boards a greyhound to Cleveland to find mom.

👇🏽

TheBookAddict It‘s frustrating that dad wouldn‘t talk to her about the situation, she‘s 16 for Pete‘s sake! Her journey is very unrealistic and she meets who she needs to at the perfect moment without even trying. She‘s always witty and being very philosophical about everything. Also, where is dad during all this? 4y

Ok, so...I had mixed feelings.

Todd lives in a world with “noise.” This noise is the thoughts of men and creatures. There are no women in his town (the only town), because the same germ that caused the noise caused the women to die. Todd will be a man in a month, on his 13th bday and he‘s looking forward to it. He‘s going about his business when he happens upon a patch of quiet, which isn‘t possible in a world with noise... 👇🏽

TheBookAddict Had mixed feelings because when he happens upon this “quiet,” we have so many questions. And as Todd gets some answers through people‘s noise we are not shown what info was given in the noise. Throughout the book we hear others‘ noise, but we don‘t see what‘s being revealed to Todd until we‘re about 400 pages in. It‘s a pick because the story was still enthralling and kept moving along, but it was so frustrating that he had answers and we didn‘t. 4y

Short but powerful.

Maleeka, a seventh grader, is being bullied at school because she has dark skin and she wears handmade clothes, among other things. Since her father passed away she had forgotten to see how beautiful and smart she is instead of listening to what others have to say. Maleeka has to learn to see herself through her own eyes, find her voice, and to stay true to herself.

As I was reading this part I pictured Oprah saying; “You get a trip to the guillotine, you get a trip to the guillotine, and you get a trip to the guillotine. Everyone gets a trip to the guillotine!!!”🤦🏻‍♀️

It‘s basically the conflict between France, Britain, and Haiti, but if people were born with certain magical abilities that are oppressed for the most part. 😔 Now I have to wait for the 2nd book to come out. 🤷🏻‍♀️
