Although fantasy is not my cup of tea, this book comes highly recommended and I enjoyed the story of three sisters who go missing as children only to return a month later with no memory of where they'd been. A decade later, the eldest sister goes missing again and it's up to the other two to uncover the secrets of their past. Totally entertaining.

Swordcrossed: A captivating queer low-fantasy romance! 🌈⚔️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️½
Enemies to Lovers | Responsible vs Rogue | LGBTQIA+

Marske crafts a beautiful slow-burn romance in an engaging low-fantasy world. Loved the normalized LGBTQIA+ rep, POC protagonist, and focus on workers' rights. Perfect blend of tender moments, thrills, and passion!

Clay‘s desperate search for a job leads him to a night shift for a mysterious bookshop. When he discovers the regulars are part of a secret organization, it‘s time for him to do some mystery solving.

Delightful! I was fascinated by the intersection of old knowledge w/ technology, I loved the affection for San Francisco as a setting & the humor was spot on. The characters did feel a little flat & I wanted more of the relationships.🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

BookmarkTavern @BarbaraJean I realized that a couple nights ago when I was reading it before bed, put it down and turned the lights out and thought “what is this weird light?” 🤣🤣 1mo

BC_Dittemore Ohhh… I read that a few years ago. Very good. Thanks for reminding me of a book I need to re-read. 😅 1mo

TheAromaofBooks I really enjoyed this one!!! I also liked another of Sloan's books - it's that same sort of borderline between real/not real. Kind of like sci-fi realism 😂 4w

Phew what a wild ride this book was! Its a super slow build but in that time you‘re getting to know each character in the friend group. Really good character development. Its a pretty complex story with a lot of details and layers but everything plays out so well. The story has a solid ending with no questions left unanswered and it‘s super twisty!

dabbe I'm all in for “super twisty“! #stacked 🖤🧡🖤 1mo

Avanders @MaleficentBookDragon yeah f‘sho! I also have something I‘ve been holding onto for you — no rush (bc I don‘t even have this book yet, but I‘ll prioritize it on the tbr list), but send me your new address at some point. 🤗 1mo
MaleficentBookDragon @Avanders I had a box made up for you before I moved, and I haven\'t found it since I moved. Ugh. I lost a lot of stuff (or I\'ll find it in a weird place like my xmas decorations). I hate moving. 1mo
Avanders @MaleficentBookDragon lol oh no! I totally get it. Especially in those final days of packing, things just get *packed* wherever they fit 😂 I hope you‘re starting to feel settled though! ♥️♥️ 1mo

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Read this to round out my Kennedy deep dive. It was, of course, super interesting at times, but insanely long for a book covering a six day period. I slogged through.

kspenmoll History channel has a Kennedy documentary we have been watching. 1mo
britt_brooke @kspenmoll I may have to check that out - thanks! 1mo

dabbe @britt_brooke I think a deep dive awaits me, too. I have always been fascinated with the Kennedys--even going to Hyannis Port just to see their compound from a distance. Thanks for the recs! #stacked 🖤🩶🖤 1mo

Memorials | Richard Chizmar

This book is a master class in story (and tension) building. Richard Chizmar can take nostalgia, the lore of Pennsylvania, and friendship and blend it all to create one of the best horror stories I have read in a very long time. As a native Pennsylvanian (from Pittsburgh specifically), I loved being put into a setting I know well. The three main characters were perfectly developed and immediately drew me into the story.

This is a mystery, written by the author of Winnie The Pooh, that I finally got around to reading after seeing it referenced in other books. It is a fun, light, locked room type of story that references Sherlock Holmes and Watson. It reminded me of an Agatha Christie novel in a slightly condensed form (it is short) and for some reason I kept imagining it as a play. It was a nice afternoon diversion. 3.5 stars!
