🤨 Nobody reads Longfellow? Lies. I read Longfellow. And I read Poe.

Finally! A five star read. I was beginning to wonder if I was the problem. Everything I read this Autumn had some flaws that turned them into obstacle courses I had to drag myself over to finish. So just the sheer pleasure of being able to read a book fluently from start to finish makes this a pick, but its also so good!

Honestly I think every woman over 30 should try T Kingfisher and this would be a great place to start with her.

1. Either, but I prefer to see them by water, so it depends on which side of the water I‘m on.

2. apocalypse, animals, adventure

Recommended by my very favorite author, this historical ghost story set in the frigid & isolated Arctic Circle, this makes for an unsettling listen. Jack joins this small research expedition, almost immediately at odds with one of his older & rougher companions. When circumstances strand him alone with the huskies, it‘s more than just the months of darkness that add to the chill… It‘s a quick listen & one that‘d make for a good book club pick!

"Maybe my mother is God, and that's why nothing I do pleases her. Maybe my mother is God, and that's why even though she never once saved me, I keep praying that this time she will."

Wow, what a beginning that this book is absolutely living up to.

Yep. 😆

I turned in my ballot a couple of weeks ago, and today, I'm seeking peace and hope in the midst of uncertainty. Even though I'm in the middle of too many “required“ reads right now, I'll be setting aside time tonight for the #ComfortReadathon... maybe I can sneak in a quick graphic novel!

The author having one of his characters reading (and hyping!) one of his own books made me laugh

Finished this book at breakfast before I went to vote…. I love Carroll‘s artistry and the way she weaves a chilling tale. From the synopsis, I was expecting more of a “Rebecca” vibe, but that‘s not really it. Two thumbs up!
