Hi Network, Breaking news! NDIS Minister Bill Shorten announced today that platform providers, Support Coordinators, and Supported Independent Living (SIL) providers will soon need to register with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. This development marks one of the most significant shake-ups the NDIS market has witnessed. Amendments to the NDIS (Provider Registration and Practice Standards) Rules 2018 are on the horizon. The Commission will engage in consultations with the disability community on new Rules starting in October. The duration of the transition period remains uncertain. These changes stem from recommendations by the NDIS Provider and Workforce Registration Taskforce, which issued its Final Report in August. Led by human rights lawyer Natalie Wade, the Taskforce was established in February following the NDIS Review’s call for mandatory registration/enrolment for all providers. The Report includes 11 recommendations and 10 implementation actions. This shift signifies a monumental change for numerous disability providers. We understand this may evoke strong emotions. While details are scarce at this stage, we commit to keeping you informed of any progress. #NDIS #DisabilityProviders #QualityandSafeguardsCommission #NDISMarket #DisabilityCommunity #NDISReview #RegistrationTaskforce #ProviderRegistration #PlanManagement

The financial ramifications of NDIS fraud extend far beyond the realm of criminal activity, imposing a substantial burden on taxpayers. Funds earmarked for disability support are diverted into the pockets of fraudsters, depriving individuals with disabilities of vital services and resources. The erosion of public trust in government institutions further exacerbates the situation, hindering efforts to secure additional funding and support for the NDIS. As the cost of fraud continues to mount, taxpayers are left grappling with the stark reality of funding a scheme riddled with corruption and inefficiency.
