DeepCast shipped a number of really cool new features recently in advance of a broad outreach push to podcast listeners. One new feature is our new Daily DeepDigest tool that sends you a concise daily email including any new episodes from the trailing 24 hours from any podcasts you Subscribe to (on DeepCast). Think daily podcast cliff notes or podcast news ticker tape, with a hint of Morning Brew various brews or PitchBook News—it's increasing information throughput when you're pressed for time. And this feature is rapidly evolving to distill other key extractions from shows you're already interested in, but also exposing you to other shows you might be unfamiliar with that also have nuggets to share—and thus increasing your aperture yet still conscious of your time. Want to go deeper on any given episode? Click the episode detail and you're off to an episode on DeepCast, where you can subsequently read a longer form distillation of that episode or go straight to the source and listen to the episode. (And podcaster friends, these pages are definitely increasing indexing and thus Google entry points to your shows!) I'm loving this feature as a user, personally. Can't wait to see what others think! #BuildingInPublic #Podcasts #AllTheWorldsInformation #HowYouWantIt

Only 20% of podcasts make it past their 10th episode. Why? 2 reasons primarily… 1️⃣ Podcasters are trying to do WAY too much themselves 2️⃣ They don’t have a strategy to monetize Maintaining a consistent, quality show is hard work. And it only takes getting a few episodes into it to realize that. So by the time most hobbyist / DIY podcasters get to their 10th episode… 😩 They’re exhausted (from trying to do too much themselves) 💰 They lack the will to push through (because they don’t have a winning monetization strategy to motivate them) So they give up. I firmly believe that podcasting is one of the greatest ways for business owners to brand themselves and market their businesses — IF they can avoid these common traps 👆 This is exactly what we’re talking about in this week’s episode of the #PodcirclePodcast — “Why Your Podcast Shouldn't be a Hobby” Listen or watch 👉 https://lnkd.in/e-zqXYVA

Creating separation in everything you do is a MAJOR 🔑 ALERT. “You must stand out from the rest in order to be the best.” - Myself For those not familiar with DJ Khaled, “major key alert” esssentially means “key to success”. On the ASOM Pod, we just announced our newest and biggest sponsor: Recharge I’ve always HATED traditional podcast ads. Anytime they come on as I’m listening to my podcasts I quickly fast forward past them. So I had to unlock a major key alert in order to create and incorporate an ad for them into our podcasts. “How do I create something where listeners don’t scroll past?” Then I quickly changed my thought process to, “how do I create something listeners will fast forward to?” What happened?? What did I come up with? Listen to the attached video and find out for yourself… P.S. Episode 8 is now LIVE on all major platforms and we talk Brand Vs. Company. Don't make these podcast hosting mistakes: 1 - Going on mega tangents. 🙃 The fix: Sketch out a story arc before you hit record. Make sure those side quests truly push the narrative forward. 2 - Planning what to say next while your guest is talking. 🎙 The fix: Fully sink into active listening. We're human, so we'll never be perfect at this, but being fully present in the moment and embracing the pause are skills that will level-up the conversation. 3 - Looking for a transaction over a relationship. 🤝 The fix: Know from the moment you reach out to a potential guest how you can help each other. This is a collaboration that should serve the listeners above all. If you're using a guest for clout or for any other reason, the whole episode comes off as less authentic. If you want to move from podcast host to capital H Host, go right now to Apple or Spotify and listen to the Shiny Objects Podcast! I help people share their stories via podcasts, radio & written media. Audio producer, journalist & media coach.
Your #podcast is likely to be a series, but it can be an encyclopaedia - as one of my clients is about to prove. While there are some tried and tested methods used in #podcasting, using them is not the law! History is full of examples of people who have done things differently and won. Often it makes sense to release podcast episodes in sequence, because they tell a story, share updates, or simply because the strategy is to create a flow of content to maintain #brandawareness and build an #audience. But what if you have a stack of knowledge and want to make it available to your audience in one go, so they can mix and match which bits they need when they need them? Why not! A client is about to record 18 episodes of a podcast that will be published all at once. This block of episodes will act as an encyclopaedia on the topic and it makes sense to do this as not every potential listener will want all the episodes. The word podcast has come to mean certain things, but audio production pre-dates podcasting by many decades and can be used in many different ways. Let's chat about how you can leverage the power of audio for your own business or brand. Feel free to DM me. #GetYourIdeasIntoEars

Speaker, Podcast Design Consultant that specializes in creating shows that transform into ALL your social media content, taking hosts less than 60min/wk, also Founder of Five Minute Social Media on YouTube (100k Subs)
Can I save you years of frustration? Strange question, isn't it? But what if instead of publishing dozens of podcast episodes HOPING your audience will find you... ...you could design a podcast that generated leads from your FIRST show? (This can happen even if only a few people listen to it). The other option is to publish episodes for years and never get any clients - how frustrating would that be? In the 4th lesson of this week’s workshop… (The New Way Entrepreneurs Can Use A Podcast To Grow Their Authority, Leads & Sales) …I’m going to show you an easy thing that anyone can add to their podcast that will: ✅ Increase the number of new people listening to each episode ✅ Get those people to finish the episodes ✅ Have more of those listeners take the next step toward becoming clients It’s based on a lesson that I NEVER would have learned as a podcaster - I only know this because of my 20+ years as a radio personality & programmer. And that's just ONE of the things we're going to cover in our podcasting workshop. We start tomorrow (Monday April 8th) and this is your last chance to join us!

Podcasting gurus tell us all the time that “consistency is key”. What they mean is “if you publish every Friday, make sure an episode goes out every Friday”. And while there’s merit in that, it can lead us to ignore some other important aspects of consistency, and that is quality. Ask yourself this: would you rather listen to your favourite podcast episode when it’s ready, or because they were able to scrap it together in time? I waited months for the finale of one of my favourite podcasts, and while that’s a tad extreme, it showed their commitment to putting out something of quality. Remember: a missed episode is only a problem for a week. A crappy episode you made to hit a deadline is there forever. #contentmarketing #tinypodcasttips
