A fun and well-paced follow up to Vol.1! I enjoyed the action in this one a lot, and the setting of their training/battle was such a great location for what was happening. Also, I really like that everyone in the class is getting their moment to shine and have their character explored. Seeing all their powers in action is cool; I've never liked when the side characters get super shoved off to side to make way for the "main" heroes.
Honestly, the main thing that I didn't like about this is the weird comments the author makes on the characters profile pages separating chapters. He calls himself a "perv" and implies pervy characters are fun (??), which is shown pretty clearly in the multiple comments characters make about wanting to grope some boobs. I get that these are hormonal high school kids, but the fact that the author calls himself a perv and then writes like that just makes the situation a bit weird. Fingers crossed for more superhero action and less pervy comments in future volumes. 🤞🤞 ( )

Deku tries to adjust to life in the Hero Course at UA High while also trying to get control of his new quirk. His frenemy, Kacchan, is his usual angry, shouty self, and when the two of them are pitted against each other in a training exercise, things get intense. All of that fades to the background, though, when real live villains invade the school...
I'm loving reading the manga after watching the anime. It's like revisiting old friends. ( )

Our protagonists have their first significant encounter with supervillains this volume, and it's handled really nicely. ( )

What do heroes do? Fight villains, rescue citizens, and stop disasters of course! Deku, Kacchan, and a plethora of new characters get their first crash course on how to be a hero. And we start with... huh? WAIT! Kacchan is fighting Deku?! This high school for heroes is getting crazy! Can't we do something normal...like picking the class president?

Leaves the reader begging for more with an intense cliffhanger ending.

Highly recommended for fans of 'Fairy Tail' and 'One Punch Man' ( )
