Had become a bit bored with autobiographies of "then I did this" "then I met ..." but this is a wonderful book of political times in recent history telling of incidents that "people of a certain age" will remember well. Very informative and enjoyable only touching on what was happening in the author's life in passing but telling in detail of what was happening in the world at that time. Written by a clever, modest and amusing man, this is an enjoyable and informative book that I couldn't put this book down ( )

An excellent and entertaining book that gives quite an amusing and informative insight into politics and politicians. Spanning a period of UK Political activity which saw great changes in the World overall and in Britain in particular, it makes quite a contribution in understanding what was happening particularly in the period when Thatcher was Prime Minister.
